Our 12-hour initial certification course is approved by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission. It covers legal authority and its limits, observe and report, use of force and de-escalation, patrol technique, access control, incident reporting and emergency procedures. We issue your certificate of completion on the day. That certificate is the first step, not the credential itself: the Maryland State Police certify security officers, and you also need to be employed by, or applying to, a licensed security guard agency or a registered security guard employer. We help you with both.
