Book the 12-Hour Initial Security Guard Training. No consultation required first. The course is approved by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission, and it is one of the required first steps toward certification. Your certificate of completion is issued the day you finish. The certification itself is issued by the Maryland State Police, and only to someone employed by, or applying for employment with, a licensed security guard agency or a security guard employer. We are your resource for that process, and the State Police lay out every requirement on their security guard certification page.

Our 12-Hour Initial Security Guard Training is approved by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission. It covers legal authority and its limits, observe and report, use of force and de-escalation, patrol technique, access control, incident reporting and emergency procedures. We issue your certificate of completion on the day you finish. That certificate is not the credential itself. Certification is a separate step: the Maryland State Police issue the Security Guard Certification, and it is for someone who is employed by, or applying for employment with, a licensed security guard agency or a security guard employer.
